Abukundakawa is This Side Up’s first ever partner, and a a shining example of a highly functioning cooperative in Rwanda with high loyalty, both among buyers and farmers. They shine especially because they were some of the first to promote coffees from vulnerable groups such as women and youth, which has received much international attention, notably in the US. The cooperative also invests in farmer training for good agricultural practices and community development. Through their strong leadership, consistency in support and creative promotion strategies, Abakundakawa has been able to actively increase its sphere of influence to support farmers and their lives at grassroot level.
